The Jorge Lacerda Thermoelectric Complex has an Integrated System for managing process quality, environment, health and safety at work, and energy efficiency. This system is certified in the ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001 standards.

The maintenance of certificates is guaranteed with audits carried out by a certifying body, when compliance with all regulatory requirements is verified. The control of environmental aspects and impacts of activities, compliance with environmental legal requirements, conditions of operating licenses, field conditions, awareness and preparation of employees and partners regarding the environment, communication with interested parties and others.

The rules of International Organization for Standardization (International Organization for Standardization - ISO) represent standards that guarantee quality, safety, efficiency, and sustainability within companies. The Jorge Lacerda Thermoelectric Complex has an Integrated System with four certifications. They are:

ISO 9001 — Quality Management

It establishes the criteria for a quality management system, which ensures that CTJL customers receive consistent, good-quality products and services.

ISO 14001 — Environmental Management

This standard specifies the requirements of an Environmental Management System and allows the organization to develop a framework for the protection of the environment and rapid response to changing environmental conditions. The standard mainly takes into account the environmental aspects and impacts of activities, compliance with legal requirements, and interaction with interested parties.

ISO 45001 — Occupational Safety and Health

This standard establishes an Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSO), providing a framework for managing risks and OHS opportunities. Adopting an occupational safety and health management system allows the company to provide safe and healthy workplaces, avoid work-related injuries and health problems, and continuously improve its OSH performance. To this end, the company acts to eliminate hazards and minimize risks, taking effective preventive and protective measures.

ISO 50001 — Energy Management

It is the specific international standard for dealing with Energy Management. In other words, this standard establishes parameters for the supply, use and consumption of energy in order to help companies to continuously improve their energy performance, through the implementation of an energy management system.
