Diamante Energia held another edition of the Women in Technical Career Workshop last Friday (14). This was the fifth edition of the project, created in 2022, and which this year already took place at the end of October at the Pecém Energy complex in São Gonçalo do Amarante (CE), the company's new asset.

High school and technical students from the Dr. Otto Fershutt School, from Capivari de Baixo; from the Youth Neighborhood, from Criciúma; and from CEDUP and IFSC, from Tubarão, participated in the meeting. The purpose of the workshop is to awaken the interest of young women in technical careers and to expand the female presence in a sector still marked by male predominance. The program combines reflections, inspiring examples and a practical experience in the industrial environment, including a visit to the plant.

In this edition, the participants attended a lecture with the People and Management Manager, Daiane Fernandes Ferreira Machado, who addressed the historical trajectory of women in society and the achievements — many of them recent — that expanded their space in the professional market.

According to Daiane, initiatives like this contribute to broadening horizons and strengthening female representation. “The workshop shows that technical careers are also a possible path for women. They don't always receive this guidance when choosing a profession.”

The technical areas were reported by the plant operator Amanda Pícolo Xavier and the maintenance technician Bianca Bandeira, who shared their experiences and challenges in the industrial routine.

After an integration coffee, the students took part in a technical visit to the plant, including the workshop and the control room. The practical experience was especially remarkable for the student of the Technical Course in Industrial Mechanics at CEDUP, Emanuela Cristine Moreira.

“It was great to meet Diamante Energia. I found a lot of things related to my area, and that certainly adds a lot to my future professional choice,” he said.

For CEDUP's pedagogical technical assistant, Fabiana Maiato Pessoa da Silva, who accompanied the class, the workshop plays an essential role. She highlights that the experience encourages students to maintain their objectives and reinforces the importance of expanding young women's access to different professional possibilities.
